One element soothes the body and mind. In summer, boats privately berthed directly outside the club await the commands of member mariners. Wind fills sails and smaller vessels ply the lake under the muscular steam of their captains. The annual Sail Past marks the official opening of yachting season, a prelude to dockside events, club races, club and reciprocal cruises, the annual regatta, awards night, sailor’s meeting and winter sailor’s nights. The “Crew Bench” offers an opportunity for landlubbers to participate as crew and experience the open water. A growing number of members enjoy the benefits of the waterside location in canoes, kayaks and dinghies.

Swimmers cool poolside served by attentive staff. Children learn the art of the butterfly through certified group or individual instruction. From the dockside patio, dreamers gaze upon the blue horizon wrapped in their imagination and stirred by conversation. On water or in water, amuse your senses.

Summer is around the corner and the Club is gearing up for a splish-splashin’ summer at the pool! In the coming months, our Staff will be busy preparing the pool to re-open.

The Oakville Club’s swimming program will be offered in combination with the Red Cross Water Safety Program, “Red Cross Swim Kids”. This program uses continuous evaluation for swimmers to progress though the levels with a focus on water safety, swimming skills and injury prevention. Swimming strokes are incorporated in all levels, using solid, proven progressions with a focus on drills and distance. The skills and water safety throughout the “Red Cross Swim Kids” program are targeted to each age group, while our highly qualified and interactive Instructors focus on each child’s progression.
